We wanted to share with you two important resources on the legal needs of displaced students post-Harvey. The first is a Know-Your-Rights one-pager (developed in collaboration with Texas Appleseed and Texas Network of Youth Services) on the right to attend school of Texas preK-12 students displaced by Harvey. It is available online at: https://www.nlchp.org/documents/mv-harvey. The second is the Law Center’s Homeless Education Advocacy Manual with a new forward addressing Hurricane Harvey, available at:https://www.nlchp.org/documents/Homeless_Education_Advocacy_Manual_Disaster_Edition. Please feel free to forward to those directly affected and those who are involved in ongoing efforts to support displaced students and their families. The Law Center, along with national, state, and local partners, will hold a webinar in the coming days to discuss the legal needs of displaced students. Please stay tuned and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
